Have you ever struggled with the perfect Christmas gift for the person who has everything? We all have. Let me suggest a unique gift for the livestock lover (cattle, pigs, sheep, or goats) in your family…a Genetic Preservation (GP) or Express Tissue Bank (ETB). What is a GP or ETB? These DNA preservation services are the first step in the cloning process. They allow you to preserve the DNA on the rockstars in your herd as a form of genetic insurance. And here is the good news – they are on sale this month for Cyber Monday!
Express Tissue Bank – using Trans Ova’s specially designed kit, you will take a few small pieces of tissue from the ear of the Rockstar. Then you return the kit to our lab near Sioux Center, Iowa where we carefully preserve that tissue intact. This service is an economical way to preserve those great animals that you are not really ready to move forward with cloning on just yet. It is also a great way to preserve a lot of animals for insurance purposes or in the event of a disease outbreak.
The retail cost for an ETB is $500 – this month they are $400!
Genetic Preservation – using Trans Ova’s specially designed kit you will take a few small pieces of tissue from the ear of the Rockstar. Then you return the kit to our lab near Sioux Center, Iowa where we take that tissue and grow it into a cell line or Genetic Preservation. At the end of a one to two week culture period, we will freeze millions of cells to use for the cloning process if and when you decide to move forward with that service. You should be able to clone many, many times from a cell line and basically will not run out of cells to clone with. Both an ETB and GP will stay frozen in liquid nitrogen storage perpetually.
The retail cost for a GP is $1600 – this month they are $1100!
So how do you move forward with this gift-giving idea? Simply call Trans Ova Genetics at 1-800-999-3586 or any one of our many regional or satellite centers and your CSR can help you with the process. We will produce a very nice Christmas certificate for you if you wish to give it as a gift. Alternatively, call me directly at 712-441-3193 and I would be happy to discuss the whole program with you. I love cloning, and it is my favorite thing to talk about. Talk to you soon and Merry Christmas!
