Why spend my summer at Trans Ova Genetics?

It’s more than a summer job. It’s a jump on the future.

In today’s job market, experience gives you the edge. Trans Ova Genetics offers a summer internship program that is designed to give students who have a passion for the animal science and reproduction industry a hands-on and real-world experience in the area of reproductive technologies.

How many positions are available?

There will be seven positions available for Summer 2017 (May through July). Six of these positions will be based out of Sioux Center, and one will be based in Texas.

When does the internship begin and end?

The internship will begin in May (as soon as you are finished with school) and the position will conclude towards the end of July to the first week in August.

When are applications due?

Interested candidates must complete the on-line application in order to be considered for an internship. Click on the "Careers" tab to complete the on-line application and upload your cover letter and resume between September 15 and November 1. Qualified candidates will be contacted and interviews will take place towards the end of November 1 and selections will be completed by December 15.

What will I experience?

As a part of the Trans Ova team, you will be assisting veterinarians in performing procedures such as embryo transfer (ET) and in vitro fertilization (IVF). Responsibilities also include assistance in flushing, freezing and thawing of embryos, organizing and preparing recipient and donor cows for ET and IVF procedures, completing necessary paper work and data entry, and maintaining the sanitation and organization of supplies in the working areas.

Students will experience reproductive technologies and their applications at our headquarters, located in Sioux Center, Iowa, as well as have the opportunity to travel to various farms and ranches. Not only will students meet multiple world-leading breeders who utilize the technologies Trans Ova offers, but will also get to work closely with some of the best beef and dairy cows in the world.
